Seat Belts

~1min read

Before starting any trip, all occupants must fasten their seat belts. Airbags only supplement the seat belts, increasing overall protection, but do not replace them.

Each seat belt must be used by only one person.

Never carry children, even infants, on your lap.

Pregnant women must also wear the seat belt, but pay particular attention to ensuring that the lap belt sits across the upper thighs and not on the abdomen.

Never allow the belt to cross the neck, be pinched or rub against sharp edges. The belt webbing must lie against the body as closely as possible, without twists and with good tension, covering the shoulder and upper thighs. Otherwise, in a frontal collision the lap belt may slide down over the hips, which can cause injuries to the groin. Make sure no hard or breakable objects are under the belt. Avoid wearing thick clothing and periodically tighten the belt in the chest area.◄
