Fuel filler flap

Opening

1. Open the fuel filler flap. To do this, press on the rear edge of its cover.
2. Turn the fuel filler cap counterclockwise.
3. Insert the fuel filler cap into the holder on the flap.

Closing

Insert the cap and turn it clockwise until it clicks audibly.

Make sure the tether strap is not trapped between the cap and the filler neck, otherwise the tank will not close properly and fuel may leak.◄

Manual Unlocking

If the electrical system malfunctions, the fuel filler flap can be unlocked manually.

1. Open the cover in the right side trim of the luggage compartment.
2. Pull the button with the fuel pump symbol.

Refuelling procedure

To avoid injury and property damage when handling fuel, observe the safety rules applicable at filling stations.◄

When refuelling, insert the fuel nozzle into the filler neck. Try not to raise the nozzle during refuelling, as this leads to

► premature shut-off of the fuel supply
► reduced fuel vapour recovery

The tank can be considered full when the fuel nozzle shuts off for the first time.

Fuel Tank Capacity

► X6 xDrive35i, X6 xDrive30d, X6 xDrive35d: approximately 85 litres, including 8 litres reserve.
► X6 xDrive50i:

approximately 85 litres, including 12 litres reserve.

When the range is less than 50 km, be sure to refuel, otherwise you risk damaging the engine.◄
