Emergency Call

Conditions required for an emergency call:

► Business mobile phone preparation kit (emergency call is possible even if no registered mobile phone is in the vehicle)
► Radio mode is switched on
► Mobile network signal is received
► Emergency call system is operational

The emergency call number depends on the country of travel. However, the emergency call button works in most GSM networks.

Misuse of the emergency call system is punishable by law.

Initiating an emergency call

1. To open the emergency call button cover, press it.

The location of the switches and indicator lamps depends on the vehicle equipment.

2. Press and hold the emergency call button for at least 2 seconds.

The LED in the button lights up. As soon as the connection to the emergency call number is established, the LED starts to flash.

A window appears on the control display, in which you can still cancel the emergency call within 5 seconds.

If the situation allows, remain in the vehicle and wait for a response. After that, you can describe the situation in detail.

If you have access to BMW Assist services, the telephone connection is established with the BMW Assist call center. If the vehicle position is determined, it is transmitted to the call center.

If the LED is flashing but you do not hear the call center agent through the loudspeaker, the speaker system may not be working. However, the agent can hear you.

In the event of a very severe accident, an emergency call is sent automatically. Pressing the emergency call button does not prevent the automatic connection.

Under unfavorable circumstances, the connection may not be established for technical reasons.◄

Press the button on the steering wheel.
