Adaptive Cornering Lights
Operating Principle
The Adaptive Cornering Lights system actively controls the vehicle headlights to improve road illumination. The light beam from the headlights follows the driving path depending on the steering angle of the steered wheels and other parameters.
Activating the system
With the ignition switched on, turn the light switch to the automatic headlight control position.
To avoid dazzling drivers of oncoming vehicles, the adaptive cornering lights do not operate when reversing, and the headlights turn toward the front passenger side when the vehicle is parked.
Malfunctions
The LED next to the automatic headlight control symbol flashes: the adaptive cornering light system is faulty.
Have the system checked at a BMW service center as soon as possible.
