Condition Based Service (CBS)

~1min read

Sensors and special algorithms take into account a wide range of operating conditions of your BMW. Based on them, the CBS indicator determines not only the work currently required but also the work that will be needed in the near future. The system allows your wishes to be taken into account when ordering maintenance and relieves you of the burden of monitoring the vehicle's condition.

You can display in the instrument cluster the time and mileage remaining until specific maintenance work is due and until the next statutory vehicle inspection.

► engine oil;
► brakes: front and rear separately;
► microfilter and activated charcoal filter (with automatic climate control);
► microfilter (with air conditioning);
► brake fluid;
► spark plugs;
► vehicle inspection;
► other inspections and checks required by law;
► diesel particulate filter.

Saving Service Data to the Electronic Key

While driving, all information necessary about the technical condition of the vehicle is constantly saved to the electronic key. A BMW service center consultant can read this data and suggest an optimal service schedule for you. Therefore, when handing over the vehicle for service, give the service staff the key that was last in the ignition lock.

For CBS to function properly, the date must be set correctly in the instrument cluster.◄
