Fuel consumption, carbon dioxide emissions (Q)

Fuel consumption is measured according to the uniform European method 80/1268/EWG. It is by no means identical to average consumption, which depends on many factors such as driving style, load, road condition, traffic density, weather, tire pressure, etc.

Engine performance is measured according to European method 80/1269/EWG or DIN 70020 for vehicles in series configuration. Permitted tolerances are also strictly regulated.

Additional equipment or accessories (roof rack, wide tires, additional mirrors, etc.) significantly affect performance and fuel consumption, as they change the vehicle mass and the drag coefficient c.
