Two-leg puller

DISASSEMBLY

1. 1
   Remove the differential housing.
   Refer to: Differential Carrier (205-02 Rear Drive Axle/Differential, Removal and Installation).
2. 2
   Both sides.
   Using the general equipment, remove and discard the differential bearings.
   Use the general equipment: Two-jaw puller.

   

3. 3

   NOTICE: Make sure the mating surfaces are clean and free of oil, dirt and debris.

   Clean and inspect the differential bearing mating surface.

   

ASSEMBLY

1. 1
   Both sides.
   Using the special tool(s), install new differential bearings.
   Use the special service tool(s): 205-1016 Installer, Differential Bearing, 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle.

   

2. 2
   Check the differential ring gear backlash.
   Refer to: Ring Gear Backlash Adjustment (205-02 Rear Drive Axle/Differential, General Procedures).
3. 3
   Install the differential housing.
   Refer to: Differential Carrier (205-02 Rear Drive Axle/Differential, Removal and Installation).
