Removal

  1. Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
  2. Remove the wheel and tire.
    Refer to: Wheels and Tires (204-04A Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).

  3. NOTICE: If fluid spills on the painted surface, the affected area must be washed immediately with cold water.

    Loosen the fitting and disconnect the brake hose from the brake caliper.
    Torque: 159 lb-in (18 N·m)

    • Move the brake caliper lever forward.
    • Disconnect the parking brake cable from the brake caliper lever.
    • Press the tabs inward, disconnect the parking brake cable from the brake caliper bracket and position it aside.
  5. Remove the bolts and the brake caliper.
    Torque: 26 lb-ft (35 N·m)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  2. Bleed the brake caliper.
    Refer to: Component Bleeding (206-00 Brake System - General Information, General Procedures).
