To avoid damage to or loss of cargo while driving, make sure the crossbars and cargo are securely fastened. Loading cargo on the roof rack will raise the vehicle's center of gravity. Avoid high speeds, sudden starts, sharp turns, sudden braking, or abrupt maneuvers; otherwise, loss of control may result. If you are driving a long distance, on rough roads, or at high speeds, stop the vehicle from time to time to make sure the cargo remains in place.
