Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
GMC Terrain. Vehicle Identification

This legal identifier is located at the front corner of the instrument panel, on the driver side of the vehicle. It can be seen through the windshield from outside the vehicle. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is also shown on the Vehicle Certification and Service Parts Identification Labels and on the registration.

Engine Identification

The eighth character of the VIN is the engine code. This code identifies the engine, its specifications, and replacement parts. Refer to Engine Specifications in the Capacities and Specifications section for the vehicle's engine code.

Service Parts Identification Label

A label may be located inside the glove box, which contains the following information:

  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Model Designation
  • Paint Information
  • Production Options and Special Equipment

If there is no label, scan the barcode on the certification label on the center (B) pillar. The same information is provided.
