Curtain Airbags

Side curtain airbags are located on both sides of the roof side rails above the front and rear doors.
They are designed to protect the heads of front and rear side outboard passengers in certain side impacts.
Side curtain airbags are designed to deploy only in certain side collisions, depending on the severity of the impact.
The side airbags and side curtain airbags on both sides of the vehicle may deploy in a rollover or when a possible rollover is detected.
Side curtain airbags are not designed to deploy in all side impacts or rollover situations.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death from an inflating curtain airbag, observe the following precautions:
- All occupants seated in seats must always wear seat belts properly to reduce the risk of injury from an airbag.
- Install child restraints properly and as far away from the door as possible.
- Do not place any objects on top of the airbag cover. Also, do not attach any objects around the airbag deployment area, such as the door, side door glass, front and rear pillars, or side roof rail.
- Do not hang objects other than clothing, especially hard or breakable objects, from the hooks. In an accident, this may cause damage to the vehicle or injury.
- Do not allow passengers to lean their head or body against the doors, place their hands on the doors, extend their arms out of the window, or place objects between the doors and seats.
- Do not open or repair the side curtain airbags.
