Battery Warning Label Description
Warning/Caution Label (continued) A.
Keep lit cigarettes and any other flame or sparks away from the battery.
B.
Wear eye protection when charging or working near the battery. Always provide ventilation when working in an enclosed area.
  • When lifting a battery with a plastic case, excessive pressure may cause acid leakage, which may result in injury. Lift the battery with a battery carrier or by hand on opposite corners.
  • Never attempt to replace the battery while the battery cables are connected.
  • The electric ignition system operates at high voltage. Never touch these components while the engine is running or the ignition is on.

C.
Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Batteries contain highly corrosive SULFURIC ACID. Do not allow battery acid to contact skin, eyes, clothing, or painted surfaces.
D.
If electrolyte gets into the eyes, flush eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately. If possible, continue applying water with a sponge or cloth until medical attention is received.
If electrolyte contacts the skin, thoroughly wash the contact area. If you feel pain or burning, seek medical attention immediately.
E.
Always read the following instructions carefully before handling the battery.
F.
Hydrogen, a flammable gas, is always present in the battery cells and may explode if ignited.

An improperly disposed battery can harm the environment and human health.
Always check local regulations for battery disposal.
Battery Handling and Storage
Battery
  • Batteries should be stored in a cool, dry place (27 °C) away from direct sunlight.
  • MF batteries are sealed to prevent acid leakage. However, tilting the battery at an angle of 45 degrees may cause acid to leak out through the vent holes on the sides. Therefore, batteries must always be stored in an upright position. Do not place any liquids or objects (such as conductors) on top of the battery.
  • It is extremely dangerous to use tools such as hammers on the battery terminals when connecting cables to an installed battery.
Battery Installed in the Vehicle
  • When storing the vehicle for a long period, be sure to remove the battery fuse from the fuse box to prevent natural discharge.
  • If the vehicle is stored with the battery fuse connected, start the engine to charge the battery within one month from the start of vehicle storage. If the vehicle is stored with the battery fuse removed, start the engine to charge the battery within three months from the start of vehicle storage.
