If the vehicle must be towed, call a professional towing service. It is extremely dangerous to tow the vehicle using only a rope or chain.
Emergency Towing
There are three common methods of towing a vehicle:
Flatbed towing: The operator loads the vehicle onto the truck bed. This is the best way to transport the vehicle.
Wheel-lift towing: The tow truck uses two pivoting arms that pass under the drive axle wheels and lift them off the ground. The other two wheels remain on the ground.
Sling towing: The tow truck uses metal cables with hooks on the ends. These hooks wrap around frame or suspension parts, and the cables lift one end of the vehicle off the ground. The suspension and body may be seriously damaged when towing with this method. If the vehicle cannot be transported with a flatbed or wheel-lift tow truck, it must be towed with the drive axle wheels lifted off the ground.
Manual transaxle

Automatic Transmission

Shift from [D] to [N].

[Front][Rear]Towing when the ECS malfunction indicator is on: If the ECS malfunction indicator illuminates and there is no air in the suspension, the vehicle height will be low. Do not drive the vehicle to protect it from protrusions on the road surface. The vehicle should be transported only on a flatbed. Deliver your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer by towing the vehicle and have the system inspected.
