Description and Operation of Anchor Pretensioner

~1min read

Description

The anchor pretensioner operates in the same way as the seat belt pretensioner. In the event of a collision, it also deploys. It is located next to the anchor on the front seat and is equipment that takes up the existing slack. The anchor pretensioner is supported by two cables, and it is auxiliary equipment that prevents the driver from being split in half when the seat belt is pulled toward the mounting side after a collision.
Never measure the resistance of the anchor pretensioner directly. The current from the measuring device may cause the airbag to deploy unexpectedly.
