Removal

  1. Remove the front bumper. (Refer to BD group - "Front Bumper")
  2. Remove the bolts and disconnect the horn connectors, then remove the low pitch horn (A).

Installation

  1. Install the horns after connecting the horn connectors.
  2. Install the front bumper.

Inspection

Check the horn by connecting battery voltage to terminal 1 and grounding terminal 2. The horn should sound. If the horn does not sound, replace it. Horn Relay Inspection
  1. Remove the horn relay (A) from the relay box in the engine compartment.
  2. There should be continuity between terminals No. 30 and No. 87 when battery voltage and ground are applied to terminals No. 85 and No. 86.
  3. There should be no continuity between terminals No. 30 and No. 87 when battery voltage is disconnected.

Adjustment

  1. Turn on the horn and adjust the tone to the appropriate level by turning the adjusting screw.
    The horn adjusting screw is automatically sealed with silicone sealant. The shape and amount of applied sealant varies; tails or drips are acceptable and should not be touched.
