Loosen the generator adjusting bolt (A) to decrease the tension.
Remove the drive belt (A).
Inspection
Drive Belt Inspection: Visually inspect the belt for excessive wear, frayed cords, etc. If any defect is found, replace the drive belt.

Drive Belt Tension Measurement and Adjustment
Belt Tension Measurement
Measure the belt tension using a mechanical tension gauge or a sonic tension meter. Tension: New belt: 686.5 ~ 784.5 N (70 ~ 80 kgf, 154.3 ~ 176.4 lbf). Used belt: 490.3 ~ 588.4 N (50 ~ 60 kgf, 110.2 ~ 132.3 lbf)
Using the Mechanical Tension Gauge
While pressing the handle (A) of the gauge, insert the belt (B) between the pulley and the pulley (or tensioner roller) into the gap between the spindle (C) and the hook (D).
Release the handle (A) and read the value on the dial indicator (B).
Using the Sonic Tension Meter
Enter the belt specifications into the tension gauge.

Actual measured value
Position the microphone (B) near the center of the belt (A) and tap the belt with your finger 2-3 times. Read the value on the display. [With Air Conditioning][Without A/C]
If adjustment is required:
Loosen the mounting bolts (A).
Turn the adjusting bolt (B) slightly clockwise to increase tension; turn counterclockwise to decrease tension.
Recheck the belt tension.
After adjusting the tension, tighten the through bolts. Tightening Torque: 12 mm Bolt: 19.6 ~ 26 N·m 14 mm Bolt: 29.4 ~ 41 N·m
Installation
Install the drive belt (A).
Adjust the tension by tightening the generator adjusting bolt (B), then install the mounting bolts (A). Tightening Torque: 12 mm Bolt: 19.6 ~ 26 N·m 14 mm Bolt: 29.4 ~ 41 N·m
Connect the negative battery cable.
