  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. After loosening the mounting screws, remove the rear door trim (A). (Refer to Body - "Rear Door")
  3. Remove the rear door latch assembly (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.
  4. Loosen the PCU (power closer unit) mounting nuts.
  5. Disconnect the power liftgate latch connector (A) and the PCU connector (B).
  6. Remove the power liftgate latch and PCU (A).
