WARNING - Loose Objects
Do not place anything in the driver's footwell or under the front seats. Loose objects in the driver's foot area may interfere with the operation of the pedals.
WARNING - Upright Seating
Do not press the seatback release lever on a manually adjusted seat without holding and controlling the seatback. The seatback may spring upright, which may strike you or other passengers.
WARNING. Driver's Responsibility for Passengers
The driver should advise passengers to keep the seatback in the upright position whenever the vehicle is in motion. If the seat is reclined during a collision, the ability of the restraint system to restrain the occupant will be significantly reduced.
CAUTION - Seat Cushion
Passengers should never sit on seat cushions or seat pillows. The passenger's hips may slide under the lap portion of the seat belt during a collision or sudden stop.
CAUTION - Driver's Seat
- Never attempt to adjust the seat while the vehicle is moving. This could result in loss of control of the vehicle.
- Do not allow anything to interfere with the normal position of the seatback. Storing objects on the seatback may result in serious or fatal injury in a sudden stop or collision.
- Sit as far from the steering wheel as possible while maintaining comfortable control of the vehicle. A distance of at least 25 cm (10 in.) between the chest and the steering wheel is recommended. Failure to do so may result in injury to the driver when the airbag deploys.
WARNING - Rear Seatbacks
Always lock the rear seatback before driving. Failure to do so may result in passengers or objects thrown forward injuring vehicle occupants.
WARNING! Luggage and Cargo
Do not stack or place baggage or cargo higher than the seatback in the cargo area. In a crash, cargo may strike and injure passengers. If items are large, heavy, or must be stacked, they must be secured in the cargo area.
WARNING. Unexpected seat movement.
After adjusting a manually adjusted seat, always check that it is locked by shifting your weight forward and backward. A sudden or unexpected movement of the driver's seat may result in loss of vehicle control.
WARNING - Seat Adjustment
- Do not adjust the seat while wearing the seat belt. Moving the seat forward may cause strong pressure on the abdomen.
- Do not place your hands under the seat or near the seat track while adjusting the seat. Your hand may become caught in the seat mechanism.
WARNING - Small Objects
Be extremely careful when retrieving small objects that have fallen under the seats or between the seat and center console. Your hands may be cut or damaged by sharp edges of the seat mechanism.
CAUTION - Precautions when using seat covers
Use caution when working with the seat cover. A short circuit or disconnection may occur, which may result in noise, damage to the ventilation system, and fire.
WARNING: Risk of seat short circuit.
Be careful of wires or ventilation holes when installing the seat cover or covering the seat with a plastic cover. A short circuit may occur, which may result in fire.
Seat Leather Characteristics
- Leather is made from the outer skin of an animal that has undergone a special treatment process to make it suitable for use. Since it is a natural material, each part differs in thickness or density. Wrinkles may appear as a natural result of stretching and shrinking depending on temperature and humidity.
- The seat cover is made of elastic material to improve passenger comfort.
- The parts contacting the body are contoured, and the side support area is high, providing comfort and stability while driving.
- Wrinkles may appear naturally as a result of use, and this is normal.
CAUTION
- Belts with metal accessories, zippers, or keys in the rear pants pocket may damage the seat fabric.
- Be careful not to wet the seat. This may change the nature of natural leather.
- Jeans or clothing containing bleach may contaminate the seat upholstery fabric and cause damage or discoloration.
✽ NOTICE
Wrinkles or wear that appear naturally from use are not covered by the warranty.
