Important safety notes

WARNING

UK only: if the vehicle has been locked with the key, the additional door locking is activated by default. The doors cannot then be opened from the inside.

Therefore, never leave people (especially children, elderly persons, or persons with disabilities or limited mobility) inside the vehicle if it has been locked with the key. In an emergency, they cannot leave the vehicle without assistance from a third person. They could be seriously or even fatally injured, for example if exposed to intense heat for too long or to cold. Under these conditions, rescue from outside is difficult.

Deactivate the interior motion sensor before locking the vehicle with the key. The doors can then be opened from the inside when you have locked the vehicle from the outside with the key.

WARNING

If you leave children unattended in the vehicle, they could

  • open a door from the inside, even if it has been locked
  • start the vehicle with a key left inside
  • release the parking brake

They could expose themselves to danger or endanger other persons. Never leave children unattended in the vehicle. When you leave the vehicle, always take the key with you, even for a short absence.
