Switching the windshield wipers on and off
Windshield glass is no longer cleaned properly when the wiper blades are worn. As a result, you may not be able to judge traffic conditions and could cause an accident. Replace the wiper blades twice a year, preferably in spring and autumn.
Do not operate the wipers when the windshield is dry, as this may damage the wiper blades. In addition, dust that has accumulated on the windshield could scratch it during dry wiping.
If you must switch on the wipers in dry weather, perform a wiping cycle with washer fluid.
If the wipers leave streaks on the windshield after the vehicle has been through a car wash, wax or other deposits may be on the windshield. After passing through an automatic car wash, clean the windshield by activating washer-assisted wiping.
