Genuine Mercedes-Benz parts

WARNING

If non-approved parts, rims, and tyres, as well as safety-relevant accessories, are used, driving safety may be compromised.

The operation of safety-relevant systems, such as the braking system, may be impaired.

You may then lose control of your vehicle and cause an accident.

Mercedes-Benz therefore recommends using genuine Mercedes-Benz parts or parts of equivalent quality. Use only tyres, rims, and accessories that have been approved for your vehicle type.

Environmental protection

Daimler AG offers recycled assemblies and parts as exchange parts. These have the same quality standard as new parts and carry the same warranty as new parts.

Airbags, belt tensioners, and the control units and sensors of these restraint systems may be fitted at the following locations:
  • Doors
  • Door pillars
  • Door sills
  • Seats
  • Cockpit
  • Instrument cluster
  • Center console

Do not install any accessories (an audio system, for example) at these locations. Do not carry out repairs or welding work there. You could impair the function of the restraint systems.

Have aftermarket accessories fitted by a qualified workshop. Mercedes-Benz recommends contacting a Mercedes-Benz Service Center for this.

Mercedes-Benz tests genuine parts, conversion parts, and approved accessories for your vehicle to verify their reliability, safety, and suitability for fitting to the vehicle. Despite continuous market monitoring, Mercedes-Benz cannot assess other products. Even if these products have received approval or official authorization in certain special cases, Mercedes-Benz accepts no liability for their fitting to Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

In Germany, certain parts are only approved for fitting or conversion if they comply with the applicable legal requirements. This also applies to certain other countries. All genuine Mercedes-Benz parts meet the approval requirements. Parts that are not approved may lead to the cancellation of the vehicle's operating permit.

This is the case if the fitted parts require a change to the vehicle type stated in the operating permit, pose a threat to other road users, worsen exhaust emissions or noise. When ordering genuine Mercedes-Benz parts, always state the vehicle identification number (VIN) and the engine number.
