Environmental protection

Daimler AG pursues a comprehensive environmental protection policy.

The objectives are to use resources sparingly and to act responsibly towards the natural foundations of life, as protecting them benefits both people and nature.

You can help protect the environment by observing certain rules when using your vehicle.

Fuel consumption and wear of the engine, transmission, brakes and tyres depend on

  • the operating conditions of the vehicle
  • your driving style

You can influence these 2 factors. Please observe the following notes:

  • Operating conditions
  • Avoid short trips, as they increase fuel consumption.
  • Check the tyre pressure regularly.
  • Do not carry unnecessary loads.
  • Monitor fuel consumption.
  • Remove the roof rack when you no longer need it.
  • Have the vehicle serviced regularly, as maintenance helps protect the environment.
  • Therefore, observe the service intervals.
  • Always have maintenance work carried out by a qualified workshop.

Driving style

  • Do not press the accelerator pedal when starting the engine.
  • Do not let the engine warm up while the vehicle is stationary.
  • Drive defensively and keep a sufficient distance from the vehicle in front.
  • Avoid frequent and abrupt acceleration.
  • Shift up in good time and only at about three-quarters of maximum engine speed.
  • Switch off the engine during waiting times caused by traffic conditions.
