Battery state of charge function

This function ensures maximum battery service life through an alternator with adjustable output power and optimised power distribution.

To prevent battery discharge while driving, the following systems are automatically supplied with less power in two stages and are then finally switched off:

• Auxiliary heater;
• Rear window heating and heated mirrors;
• Heated seats;
• Blower.

In the second stage, a message confirming activation of battery discharge protection is displayed in the driver information centre.

Automatic Shut-Off of Electric Lamps

To prevent battery discharge when the ignition is off, certain interior lamps switch off automatically after a set period of time.
