TOWING A TRAILER, CARAVAN...
Device designed for connecting a trailer or caravan with indicator and additional lighting.

Your vehicle is designed primarily for carrying passengers and luggage, but it can also be used to tow a trailer.
It is recommended to use PEUGEOT towing hitches and electrical kits, which are approved and suited to the design of your vehicle, and to have them fitted at a PEUGEOT NETWORK dealer or a specialist workshop. If the kit is fitted outside a PEUGEOT NETWORK dealer, the manufacturer's instructions must be followed strictly.
Towing a trailer places increased loads on the towing vehicle and requires the driver's particular attention.
Driving recommendations
Load distribution
- Distribute the load on the trailer so that the heaviest items are as close as possible to the axle, and so that the nose weight is close to, but does not exceed, the maximum permissible nose weight.
Air density decreases as altitude increases, which reduces engine power. Reduce the maximum permissible trailer weight by 10% for every 1000 metres of altitude.
See the "Technical data" section for the permitted vehicle and trailer masses for your vehicle.
Crosswind
- Take into account the vehicle's increased sensitivity to crosswind.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on gradients causes the coolant temperature to rise.
The fan is electrically driven, so its cooling capacity does not depend on engine speed.
- To reduce engine speed, reduce vehicle speed.
The maximum permissible trailer weight for extended driving on gradients depends on the gradient and the ambient temperature.
In all cases, pay particular attention to the coolant temperature.
If the
warning lamp or STOP lamp comes on, stop the vehicle and switch off the engine as soon as possible.
Brakes
When towing a trailer, the braking distance increases.
Tyres
Check the tyre pressures of the towing vehicle and the trailer, observing the recommended values.
Lighting
Check the lights and indicators on the trailer.
