* Towing capacity (towing a caravan, boat, ...)
Towing is prohibited when the calculation GTW - GVW equals zero, or when the GTW is zero (or not stated) on the manufacturer's plate.
- It is important to observe the towing conditions permitted by local legislation and, in particular, those defined in the Highway Code. For any towing bracket adaptation, contact your Renault dealer.
- When towing, the gross train weight (vehicle + trailer) must never be exceeded. However, the following is tolerated:
- rear GAW exceeded by up to 15%,
- GVW exceeded by up to 10% or 100 kg (whichever limit is reached first).
In both cases, the maximum speed of the combination must not exceed 100 km/h and tyre pressure must be increased by 0.2 bar (3 PSI).
- As engine output and hill-climbing ability decrease with altitude, we recommend reducing the maximum load by 10% at 1,000 metres, then by a further 10% for each 1,000-metre step.
Load transfer
The towed mass must never exceed 1500 kg.
Depending on local legislation, when the vehicle's MAM is not reached, up to 200 kg may be transferred to the braked trailer, within the vehicle's GTW.
