Seat Belts
To avoid endangering yourself, observe the adjustment instructions.◄
Before starting any trip, all occupants must fasten their seat belts. Airbags only supplement the seat belts to increase overall protection. They do not replace the seat belts.

Fastening
The buckle must lock with an audible click.
Warning for unfastened driver and front passenger seat belts

The indicator lamp lights up, a signal sounds, and a message appears on the Control Display. Check that the seat belts are properly fastened.
The warning signal sounds when the driver's seat belt is not fastened. Depending on the country-specific version, the signal may also sound at speeds above 8 km/h if the front passenger's seat belt is not fastened, there is cargo on the front passenger seat, or the front occupants have unfastened their seat belts.
Unfastening
1. Hold the belt with your hand.
2. Press the red button on the buckle.
3. Feed the belt back into the retractor.
If the seat is adjusted correctly, the upper belt anchor point is suitable for adults of any height.
Damaged Seat Belts
After an accident or damage, the seat belts must be replaced, including the belt tensioners and child restraint systems, and their mountings must be inspected. Have this work performed only by a BMW service center.◄
