Diesel Engine

Do not refuel the vehicle with rapeseed methyl ester (RME), biodiesel fuel or petrol. If the vehicle is accidentally refuelled with such fuel, do not start the engine. Risk of engine damage.◄

If the vehicle is accidentally filled with the wrong type of fuel, contact a BMW service center.

The fuel tank has a special filler neck for refuelling from diesel pumps.◄

Winter Diesel Fuel

For reliable operation of the diesel engine in cold weather, use winter diesel fuel, which is sold at filling stations at this time of year. The standard fuel filter heating prevents fuel from thickening while driving.

Do not add additives or petrol to the fuel. Risk of engine damage.◄
