Brake Fluid

Warning lamps are lit red even though the parking brake is released: stop driving immediately.

Low brake fluid level in the reservoir. The brake pedal travel may also increase noticeably. Have the system checked at a BMW service center as soon as possible.

If you continue driving, greater force may be required on the brake pedal. Its travel may increase noticeably.

Brake Pads

Warning lamps are lit red even though the parking brake is released: brake pads are almost worn out. Replace the brake pads as soon as possible.

For your own safety:

use only those brake pads that BMW has approved specifically for your model. BMW cannot guarantee safety when non-approved pads are used, because it cannot assess their suitability.◄
