Airbag System Readiness

When the ignition key is turned to position 1, the indicator lamp illuminates for several seconds. This indicates that the airbag system and seat belt tensioners are ready for operation.
Airbag System Malfunction
► The indicator lamp does not illuminate when the ignition key is turned to position 1.
► The indicator lamp remains illuminated.
If a fault appears in the airbag system, have it checked immediately at a BMW service center, because a faulty system may not deploy in an accident.◄
