Petrol engines

Do not refuel the vehicle with leaded gasoline, as it causes irreversible damage to the oxygen sensors and catalytic converter.◄

Gasoline may be desulfurized. Knock control allows the use of gasoline of different grades.

► Your BMW engine is designed for:

SUPER PLUS gasoline – AKI-98.

This grade is preferred because it allows the rated engine output and fuel consumption to be achieved.

► Refuelling is permitted with:

unleaded SUPER petrol – RON 95.

This gasoline may be designated as:

DIN EN 228 or EURO-SUPER.

► Minimum requirement:

standard unleaded petrol – RON 91.

At high outside air temperatures, engine starting may be accompanied by knocking.

This does not affect engine service life.
