Cargo loading information

~1min read
  • Place heavy items in the cargo area against the seatbacks.

Make sure the seatbacks are properly latched. If items are stacked, place the heaviest ones on the bottom.

  • Secure items in the cargo area to prevent them from shifting.
  • When carrying items in the cargo area, the rear seatbacks must not be folded forward.
  • Luggage must not extend above the top edge of the seatbacks.
  • Do not place any objects on the parcel shelf or on the instrument panel; do not cover the sensor located in the upper part of the instrument panel.
  • The cargo must not interfere with operation of the pedals, parking brake and gear shift lever, or restrict the driver's freedom of movement. Do not carry any unsecured (unfastened) items in the passenger compartment.
  • Do not drive with the tailgate (or trunk lid) open.
  • Payload is the difference between the gross vehicle weight rating (see the identification plate) and the curb weight of the vehicle ready for driving. Detailed information on the curb weight of the vehicle can be found in the technical data section. As required, the curb weight includes the estimated weight of the driver (68 kg), luggage (7 kg) and all fluids (fuel tank filled to 90 %).

Additional and optional equipment increases the curb weight of the vehicle.

  • Carrying luggage on the roof increases the vehicle's sensitivity to crosswinds and worsens its handling by raising the center of gravity. Distribute loads evenly and secure them with straps. Adjust tire pressure and driving speed to the load conditions. Check and tighten the securing straps periodically.
