Installation Instructions and Operating Recommendations
When installing and using a mobile phone, follow the special instructions of the mobile phone and hands-free system manufacturers for their installation and operation in the vehicle. Failure to observe these instructions may invalidate the operating permit for this type of vehicle (European Union Directive 95/54/EC).
To ensure trouble-free operation:
• Use a professionally installed external antenna that provides maximum operating range;
• Maximum transmission power must not exceed 10 W;
• Install the telephone in a suitable location. See the relevant Note.
For recommended locations for installing the external antenna or equipment holders, as well as the possibility of using transmitters with power above 10 watts, separate consultation is required.
A hands-free device with GSM 900/1800/1900 and UMTS phones may be used without an external antenna only if the maximum radiated power of the mobile phone does not exceed 2 watts for GSM 900, and 1 watt in other cases.
For safety reasons, do not use the telephone while driving. Even conversation through a hands-free device can distract the driver while the vehicle is in motion.
Mobile phones and radio equipment that do not comply with the above standards may only be used with an antenna installed outside the vehicle.
If the above requirements are not observed, switching on mobile phones and radio equipment inside the passenger compartment without an external antenna may cause malfunction of the vehicle's electronic systems.
