Child seat advice
Incorrect installation of a child seat in a vehicle compromises the child's protection in the event of a collision.
Always fasten the seat belts or the harness of child seats, keeping slack relative to the child's body to a minimum, even for short journeys.
When installing a child seat with the seat belt, make sure the belt is taut on the child seat and holds the child seat firmly on the vehicle seat.
For optimum installation of a forward-facing child seat, make sure its backrest is pressed against the vehicle seat backrest and that the head restraint does not get in the way.
If you need to remove the head restraint, make sure it is stowed or secured to prevent it becoming a projectile in the event of heavy braking.
Children under 10 years old must not be transported in a forward-facing position in the front passenger seat, unless the rear seats are already occupied by other children or the rear seats are unusable or absent.
Deactivate the passenger airbag * as soon as a rear-facing child seat is installed in the front seat.
Otherwise, the child could be seriously injured or killed when the airbag deploys.
Installing a booster seat
The chest section of the seat belt must be positioned over the child's shoulder without touching the neck.
Check that the lap section of the seat belt passes correctly over the child's thighs.
CITROËN recommends using a booster seat with a backrest, fitted with a belt guide at shoulder level.
For safety reasons, never leave:
- one or more children alone and unsupervised in a vehicle,
- a child or an animal in a car exposed to the sun with the windows closed,
- the keys within reach of children inside the vehicle.
To protect your young children from the sun's rays, fit the rear windows with side sun blinds.
