Operating Tips
NOTE:
Refer to the table at the end of this section for recommended control settings for various weather conditions.
Summer Operation
The engine cooling system must be protected with high-quality antifreeze to provide proper corrosion protection and engine overheating protection. OAT coolant (meets MS.90032) is recommended.
Winter Operation
To ensure the best heater and defroster performance, make sure the engine cooling system is working properly and the amount, type, and concentration of coolant used is correct. Using recirculation mode in winter months is not recommended, as it may cause the windows to fog.
Storage/Storage Preparation
For information on climate control system maintenance when the vehicle is stored for an extended period of time.
Window Fogging
The vehicle windows tend to fog up on the inside in mild, rainy, and/or humid weather. To clear the windows, select defrost mode or a blend mode and increase the front fan speed.
Do not use recirculation mode without air conditioning for an extended period, as fogging may occur.
Outside Air Intake
Make sure the air intake located directly in front of the windshield is free of obstructions such as leaves. Leaves collected in the air intake can reduce airflow, and if they enter the air distribution box, they can clog the water drains. In winter months, make sure there is no ice, slush, or snow in the air intake.
Cabin Air Filter
The climate control system filters dust and pollen from the air. Contact an authorized dealer to service the cabin air filter and replace it when necessary.
