If you intend to leave your vehicle inactive for more than 3 weeks, you may want to perform the following steps to protect the battery.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Each time you store your vehicle or do not use it (for example, on vacation) for two weeks or more, run the air conditioning system at idle for about five minutes in fresh air at high fan speed. This ensures adequate lubrication of the system to minimize the possibility of compressor damage when the system is started again.
