The GSI (Gear Shift Indicator) system advises the driver to change gear through an indication on the instrument panel. Through the GSI, the driver is alerted that shifting to another gear would save fuel.

When the SHIFT UP icon (SHIFT) is shown on the display, the GSI suggests shifting to a higher gear, while when the SHIFT DOWN icon (SHIFT) is shown, the GSI suggests shifting to a lower gear.

The indication remains displayed until a gear change is made, or until driving conditions no longer require a gear change to optimise fuel consumption.
