Overview

The ACC cruise control system is controlled by the PCM, CCM and IPMA.

The ACC cruise control modes are selected using the switches mounted on the left steering wheel switch pod.

The cruise control icons on the steering wheel switch change depending on the option:

  • Basic cruise control.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control.
  • Adaptive cruise control with lane centering.
  • Adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go.

For additional information, refer to the Owner's Literature.

The following distance setting is selected using the left steering wheel switch.

ACC with Stop and Go (if equipped) uses radar and camera sensors to adjust vehicle speed to maintain a set following distance behind the vehicle ahead in the same lane. For additional information, refer to the Owner's Literature.

ACC with Lane Centering (if equipped) uses radar and camera sensors to keep the vehicle centered in its lane by applying a continuous steering torque assist input toward the center of the lane. Refer to the Owner's Literature for additional information.

Intelligent ACC (if equipped) adjusts the set speed based on the observed speed limit. When this mode is selected, the set speed and the detected speed limit sign are shown in the information display. The system is designed to set the vehicle speed to match the speed limit detected by the Traffic Sign Recognition system before the vehicle exceeds the speed limit sign. For additional information, refer to the Owner's Literature.

The ACC system maintains the selected vehicle speed within the range of 30 km/h to the maximum restricted vehicle speed. When the MyKey® Restricted Key is in use and the maximum speed limiter is enabled, the vehicle speed is limited to 129 km/h.

During normal driving, the vehicle speed may vary slightly from the set speed due to road conditions. The vehicle speed may fluctuate when driving up and down a steep grade. If the vehicle speed drops more than 16 km/h below the set speed, cruise control disengages.
