Normal Operation and Fault Symptoms
Cruise control does not set speeds above 105 km/h, 113 km/h, 121 km/h or 129 km/h. A MyKey® restricted key is used and the MyKey® maximum speed limiter is enabled. Using the administrator key, check whether the MyKey® maximum speed limiter is enabled. Refer to the Owner's Literature.
Refer to: Cruise Control - System Operation and Component Description (419-03A Cruise Control, Description and Operation).

| A1 CHECK THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) |
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, perform a PCM self-test.
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, perform the SCCM self-test.
Are any diagnostic trouble codes recorded?
| Yes |
If PCM DTCs were retrieved, refer to the Powertrain DTC Index. If SCCM DTCs B137F:11, B137F:13, B137F:96 or B137F:9E were retrieved, GO to A3. For all other SCCM DTCs: REFER to: Steering Wheel and Column Electrical Components (211-05 Steering Column, Diagnosis and Testing). |
|
| A2 CHECK THE STOP LAMP SWITCH (BOO1) AND CRUISE CONTROL CANCEL SWITCH (BOO2) PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION (PIDS) |
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, view the PCM PIDs.
Do the PID values match the brake pedal position?
|
| A3 CHECK THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH PID PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION (PID) VALUES |
- Using the diagnostic scan tool,
Access the SCCM and monitor the SC_ONOFF PID , Access the SCCM and monitor the SC_CNCL_RESM PID , Access the SCCM and monitor the SC_SET+ PID andAccess the SCCM and monitor the SC_SET- PID
- Using the table, press each cruise control switch while monitoring the cruise control switch PID.
| Cruise control switch | PID value |
| Cruise On (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
| Cruise Off (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
| Resume (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
| Cancel (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
| SET + (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
| SET - (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
Do the PID values match the switch position?
| No |
If only one switch does not show the correct PID value, INSTALL a new left steering wheel switch. REFER to: Steering Wheel Multifunction Switch (211-05 Steering Wheel and Column Electrical Components, Removal and Installation). If more than one switch does not show the correct PID value, GO to A4. |
|
| A4 CHECK THE VOLTAGE AT THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCHES |
- Remove the driver air bag.
REFER to: Driver Air Bag (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation).
- Disconnect the left steering wheel switch C2490.
