NOTE
The object used in this system check can be made from a 9 cm (3 in) inside diameter, 100 cm (39 in) long pipe (available as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe or similar from a hardware or plumbing supply store).
The following system check must be performed with the vehicle parked on a level surface.
The actual sensor location may differ from the configuration shown.
Evenly distribute the test objects across the bumper as shown in the illustration. Refer to the specifications in this section.

Turn the ignition key to the ON position. Do not start the engine.

Apply the parking brake.

Select REVERSE (R) for rear park assist.

Select DRIVE (D) for front park assist.

NOTE
The system sounds audible warnings only when the vehicle is moving, or when the vehicle is stationary and an obstacle is detected within 12 in (30 cm) of the bumper.
Using the scan tool, monitor the park assist sensor distance parameter identification (PID) for object detection when objects are placed at the specified locations (P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5).
