Removal and Installation - Rear Bumper

Removal

All vehicles

1. Remove the rear bumper cover.
   Refer to: Rear Bumper Cover (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).

Vehicles without trailer tow package

2. With the aid of an assistant.
   Remove the nuts and the rear bumper.
   Torque: 46 lb-ft (63 N·m)

Vehicles with trailer tow package

1. 1
   Disconnect the trailer tow electrical connector.

   Both sides.
   Remove the bolts.

   

3. 3
   With the aid of an assistant.
   Remove the rear bumper.

   

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Vehicles with trailer tow package

1. 1
   With the aid of an assistant, both sides.
   Install the rear bumper and hand-tighten the bolts.

   

2. 2
   With the aid of an assistant, both sides.
   Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
   Torque: 85 lb-ft (115 N·m)

   

3. 3
   To install, reverse the removal procedure.
