Parking Aid Overview
Parking Aid - Audible Warning
Available parking aid features depend on the vehicle trim level and selected options. Possible parking aid audio system configurations are as follows:
- Rear Parking Aid Only
- Front and Rear Parking Aid
- Front and Rear Parking Aid, and Active Park Assist and Side Object Detection System (also known as Side Guard Assist)
The rear parking aid system provides an audible warning through the rear speakers of the audio system to alert the driver to stationary objects near the rear bumper when the vehicle is moving in reverse. The rear parking aid system may not detect moving objects.
If equipped, the front parking aid system sounds a warning tone through the front speakers to alert the driver of stationary objects near the front bumper in all gears except Park and Neutral when the vehicle is moving forward. The front parking aid system may not detect moving objects.
The side object detection system (also known as Side Guard Assist) uses the front and rear side sensors to detect and alert the driver to obstacles beside the vehicle. The side object detection system provides an audible warning when an obstacle is detected on the right or left side of the vehicle while the vehicle is moving slowly forward or in reverse.
When using the MyKey® Limited Access key, the parking aid system is on by default and cannot be turned off.
