Removal

  1. Remove the front bumper cover.
    Refer to: Front Bumper Cover (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).
  2. Remove the front impact sensor.
    Refer to: Front Impact Sensor (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation).
  3. Remove the headlamp assembly.
    Refer to: Headlamp Assembly (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).
  4. Disconnect the horn electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the front bumper cover harness electrical connector from the upper air deflector.
  6. Remove the upper air deflector pin retainers and the bolts securing the radiator grille panel to the front bumper.
    Torque: 18 lb-ft (25 N·m)
  7. Remove the lower air deflector pin retainers.
  8. Remove the bolts and the front bumper.
    Torque: 18 lb-ft (25 N·m)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
