Cruise Control - Overview. Description and Operation

~1min read

Overview

The cruise control system is controlled by the PCM.

The cruise control mode is selected with the steering wheel switches (ON/OFF, SET+, SET- and CAN/RES), which are integrated in the left steering wheel switch.

On vehicles equipped with adaptive cruise control, the following gap setting is selected using the steering wheel switch <---> (GAP increase) and <-> (GAP decrease), which are integrated into the LH steering wheel switch.

The cruise control system maintains the selected vehicle speed within 32 km/h or 29 km/h (metric group), up to the maximum vehicle speed limit. When the MyKey® Restricted Driving feature is used and the Max Speed Limiter is enabled, the vehicle speed is limited to 129 km/h.

During normal driving, the vehicle speed may vary slightly from the set speed due to road conditions. The vehicle speed may fluctuate when driving up and down a steep grade. If the vehicle speed drops more than 16 km/h below the set speed, cruise control disengages.
