Automatic Headlamp System
When the exterior lamp control is set to AUTO and it is dark enough outside, the headlamps will turn on automatically.

The light sensor is located on top of the instrument panel. Do not cover the sensor; otherwise the headlamps may turn on when not needed.
The system may also turn on the headlamps when driving through a garage or tunnel.
When it is light enough outside, the headlamps turn off or may switch to Daytime Running Lamps (DRL).
The automatic headlamp system turns off when the exterior lamp control is moved to
or the ignition is off.
Headlamps with Wipers
If the windshield wipers are activated during daytime with the engine running and the exterior lamp control is in AUTO, the headlamps, parking lamps, and other exterior lamps will turn on. The time delay before the lamps turn on depends on the wiper speed. When the wipers are not operating, these lamps turn off. Move the exterior lamp control to
or
to disable this feature.
