~1min read
DRL can help make the front of the vehicle more visible to others during the day. Fully functional DRL is required on all vehicles first sold in Canada.
The DRL system turns on during daylight when the following conditions are met:
- The ignition is on.
- The exterior lighting control is in AUTO.
- The vehicle is not in P (Park).
- The light sensor detects daytime conditions.
When the DRL are on, the taillamps, side marker lamps, instrument panel lamps, and other lamps will not be on. The instrument cluster will illuminate.
The DRL turns off when the headlamps are turned on
or the ignition is off. For vehicles first sold in Canada, the DRL can only be turned off when the vehicle is parked.
The standard headlamp system should be turned on when necessary.
