Service and Maintenance

General Information

~3min read

Your vehicle is an important investment. This section describes the maintenance required for your vehicle. Follow this schedule to help protect against costly repairs resulting from neglect or inadequate maintenance. It may also help maintain the value of your vehicle if it is sold. It is the owner's responsibility to have all required maintenance performed.

Your dealer has trained service technicians who can perform the required maintenance using genuine replacement parts. They have modern tools and equipment for fast and accurate diagnosis. Many dealers offer extended evening and Saturday hours, courtesy transportation, and online scheduling to help meet your service needs.

Your dealer understands the importance of providing service at competitive prices and repair services. With trained technicians, the dealer is the place for scheduled maintenance, such as oil changes and tire rotation, and additional maintenance items such as tires, brakes, batteries, and wiper blades.

Tire rotation and related services are the responsibility of the vehicle owner. It is recommended that your dealer perform these services every 12,000 km/7,500 miles. Proper vehicle care helps keep the vehicle in good operating condition, improves fuel economy, and reduces vehicle emissions.

Because of the way people use vehicles, maintenance needs vary. More frequent inspections and services may be required. Additional required services are normal for vehicles that:

  • Carry passengers and cargo within the recommended limits on the Tire and Loading Information label. See Vehicle Load Limits.
  • Are driven on reasonable road surfaces within legal driving limits.
  • Use the recommended fuel. See Recommended Fuel (LYX - 1.5L L4 Turbo Engine) or Recommended Fuel (LTG - 2 L L4 Turbo Engine).

Refer to the information in the Maintenance Schedule, Additional Required Services - Normal Schedule.

Additional required services - Severe use applies to vehicles that:

  • Are mainly driven in heavy city traffic in hot weather.
  • Are mainly driven in hilly or mountainous terrain.
  • Frequently tow a trailer.
  • Are used for high-speed or competitive driving.
  • Are used for taxi, police, or delivery service.

Refer to the information in the Maintenance Schedule, Additional Required Services - Severe Schedule.
