110/120 V AC Power Outlet

~1min read

If equipped, this power outlet can be used to connect electrical equipment that uses a maximum of 150 W.

GMC Terrain. Power Outlet 110/120 Volt Alternating Current

The power outlet is located on the rear center console.

The indicator on the outlet illuminates to show that it is in use. The light comes on when the ignition is on and equipment requiring 150 watts or less is connected to the outlet, and no system fault is detected.

The indicator does not illuminate when the ignition is off, or if the equipment is not fully installed in the outlet.

If equipment using more than 150 W is connected, or a system fault is detected, the protection circuit shuts off power and the indicator turns off. To reset the circuit, disconnect the item and reconnect it, or turn Retained Accessory Power (RAP) off and then back on. See Retained Accessory Power (RAP). Power restores when equipment using 150 W or less is connected to the outlet and no system fault is detected.

The outlet is not designed for the following and may not operate properly if they are connected:

  • Equipment with a high initial power surge, such as compressor refrigerators and power tools
  • Other equipment that requires extremely stable power, such as microcomputer-controlled electric blankets and touch-sensitive lamps
  • Medical equipment
