Recommended Lubricants and Capacities
To achieve proper engine and transmission performance and durability, use only lubricants of proper quality. Proper lubricants also contribute to engine efficiency, resulting in improved fuel economy. These lubricants and fluids are recommended for use in your vehicle.

*1: Refer to the recommended SAE viscosity values on the following page.
*2: Energy Conserving engine oils are now available. Along with other additional benefits, they help save fuel by reducing the amount of fuel required to overcome engine friction. These improvements are often difficult to measure in everyday driving, but over a year they can offer significant cost and energy savings.

CAUTION
Always clean the area around the oil filler cap, drain plug or dipstick before checking or draining lubricant. This is especially important in dusty or sandy areas and when driving on unpaved roads. Cleaning the filler cap and dipstick area prevents dirt and sand from entering the engine and other mechanisms, which could be damaged.
Engine oil viscosity (thickness) affects fuel economy and operation in cold weather (engine starting and engine oil flow). Lower viscosity engine oils may provide better fuel economy and cold-weather performance; however, higher viscosity engine oils are necessary for adequate lubrication in hot weather.
Using oils of any viscosity other than the recommended one may cause engine damage.
When selecting oil, consider the temperature range in which your vehicle will be operated until the next oil change. Refer to the chart to select the recommended oil viscosity.
