Malfunction of the Function
After the engine is started, a warning sound will sound when the shift lever is moved to R (Reverse) to indicate that the system is operating normally.
However, if one or more of the following occurs, first check whether the ultrasonic sensor is damaged or the system is in a malfunction state. If it still does not operate properly, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- The warning sound does not sound.
- The buzzer sounds intermittently.
- A warning message "Parking Sensor Error or Blocked" appears on the cluster.

WARNING
- The Parking Distance Warning is a supplemental system. The operation of the system may depend on a number of factors (including environmental conditions). It is the driver's responsibility to always check the rear view before and while parking.
- The new vehicle warranty does not cover any accidents or damage to the vehicle.
- Be careful when driving near objects, pedestrians, and especially children. Some objects may not be detected by the ultrasonic sensors due to the object's distance, size, or material, or anything else that may limit the effectiveness of the sensor.
System Limitations
- Rear parking distance warning may not operate normally when:
-- Moisture has frozen onto the sensor
-- The sensor is covered with foreign material such as snow or water (the system will operate normally once the foreign material is removed)
-- The weather is extremely hot or cold
-- The sensor or sensor assembly is disassembled
-- The sensor surface is pressed hard or struck by a hard object
-- The sensor surface is scratched by a sharp object
-- The sensors or the area around them are directly sprayed by a high-pressure washer - Rear parking distance warning may malfunction when:
-- Heavy rain or water spray is present
-- Water is flowing over the sensor surface
-- The sensors have been affected by another vehicle
-- The sensor is covered with snow
-- Driving on uneven roads, gravel roads, or bushes
-- Objects generating ultrasonic waves are near the sensor
-- The license plate installation differs from the original location
-- The vehicle bumper height or the installation of the ultrasonic sensor has been changed - The following objects may not be detected:
-- Sharp or thin objects, such as ropes, chains, or small poles
-- Objects that tend to absorb sensor frequency, such as clothing, porous material, or snow
-- Objects less than 40 in. (100 cm) in length and less than 6 in. (14 cm) in diameter - Parking warning indicators may be displayed differently from the actual detected location when an obstacle is located between the sensors.
- The parking warning indicator may not be consistent depending on the vehicle speed or the shape of the obstacle.
- If the rear parking distance warning requires repair, it is recommended that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
