Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle

The HYUNDAI Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) has the general characteristics of both a conventional hybrid electric vehicle and a fully electric vehicle.

When operating as a conventional hybrid electric vehicle, the HEV computer selectively operates the engine and the electric motor, or both at the same time.

When operating in EV mode, the vehicle moves using only the electric motor for a certain distance until the hybrid battery becomes low. The EV mode distance depends on the customer's driving style and road conditions. Aggressive driving maneuvers may temporarily cause the engine to operate at maximum output.

The hybrid battery can be fully charged by connecting the plug to an external power source.
